Exercise Uhlan Rage challenges anti-tank weapons operators

On August 6 soldiers with the Grand Duchess Birutė Uhlan Battalion and D Company of the 173rd Airborne Brigade trained delivering live fire from the BGM-71 TOW (tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided) anti-tank missile units at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Range (Pabradė). Participants honed their firing skills and accuracy by trying to hit armoured targets at the distance of nearly 2 kilometres. The live fire exercise is a part of Exercise Uhlan Rage that involves Lithuanian and U.S. troops and will be running for two weeks.

NATO will continue guarding the Baltic skies with enhanced capability

NATO will continue conducting the Baltic Air Policing Mission in its enhanced format comprising eight aircraft.  Before the security crisis the NATO Baltic Air Policing Mission normally had four aircraft for each rotation.

According to the most recent plans, a Hungarian air contingent will take charge of the Baltic Air Policing Mission as of September with four JAS-39 Gripen fighter aircraft operating from the Šiauliai Air Base, while four Eurofighter Typhoon fighters from Germany will strengthen the mission from the Amari Air Base in Estonia.
